The company “Elsis TS”, belonging to the group of information and communication technology (ICT) companies “Elsis”, has successfully implemented the Project “Acquisition of Mobile Command Post 2” of 2.6 million LTL in value. The mobile command posts acquired within the framework of the External Borders Fund will make it possible to ensure public security and the co-operation of special services.
The objective of the implemented Project was to equip the mobile command post, consisting of the command control centre and the emergency communication centre installed in vehicles. This equipment enables carrying out the surveillance and analysing the situation, communicating with the officers outside the command post. The installed system also ensures that the commanders and support personnel of the staff on four wheels will have access to the phone, radio, electronic communication, various databases, will be able to work with computer and visual monitoring equipment.
“In case of emergencies related to the protection of the EU external borders, natural disasters, threat to public order and security or in case of special operations, the technical opportunities available to the commanders of special servicers will allow coordinating the work of various services of the Ministry of the Interior directly from the field. Innovative solutions will ensure prompt, co-ordinated work of specialists, facilitate the timely prevention of potential threats,” assured Ramūnas Bazevičius, Commercial Manager of the company “Elsis TS”.
Mobile command posts are widely used in other European states – it will be the first equipment of this type in Lithuania. Mobile command posts will be used during mass events and emergencies. The Project is funded by Annual Programme 2008 “Special Transit Scheme” of the External Borders Fund. The total financing from the External Borders Fund amounts to more than 2.5 million litas (more than 0,7 mln. EUR).
